McCool Takes Magnolia Motor Speedway Season Opener

Columbus, MS-Bub McCool of Vicksburg, MS took his first ever Magnolia Motor Speedway win in the Majestic Metals 30. McCool set fast time, won his heat, and went flag to flag to take the $1,500 first place prize in his Tony Barker powered Trak-Star chassis. Mike Boland applied pressure to no avail to finish second with Shawn Edwards completing the podium. Rick Rickman and David Breazeale rounded out the top five.

Jason Brock continued the Brock family dominance in the Open Wheel Modified division with a mid race pass for the lead. Brandon Poppenheimer was second with Brian Rickman third. Early leader Lamar Furr finished fourth with Tony Gray completing the top five.

The Late Model Stock division saw Fulton’s Eric Cooley reel off his fourth consecutive win at four different tracks followed Chance Inman and Marcus Minga. Jason Milam and Tal Evans completed the top five.

Chris Reed took the Stormpay Late Model division over a healthy field of 14 entrants as Reed fended off living legend Jerry Inmon followed by Justin Carter. TK King was fourth with John Maxey in fifth.

A full field of Street Stocks were on hand with Mike Barton of Columbus taking the win. Completing the top five were Tony Silvestri, Jeremy Robertson, Ricky Dodd, and Craig Barham.
